Abstract

The investigation described in this paper was undertaken to clarify the feasibilityof a valveless micro-pump using fluidic diode. This micro-pump control the flow by the two vortex type fluidic diode instead of the usual mechanical valve. First,in this paper, rectification characteristics of the micro fluidic diode are verified experimentally.
Secondly, a theoretical method of performance prediction is discussed to obtain the flow capability of the pump. From the results of this study, the relationship between the performance of the fluidic diode and the Reynolds number is clarified.And, the expected flow rate and pump efficiency are revealed.
