Abstract

The most ambigueus factor in solving concrete field problems is the estimation of the boundary values. In this paper, the inverse method for estimating the boundary condition from measured values is proposed as the application of finite element method and the method of least square, and an error analysis is carried out for simple problems. The method is applied to heat condution problem in the piston model ofellgine and the effects of estimating parameters are clarified.
