Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop flexible and high-efficient thermoelectric water electrolysis system using hot spring water and water of a stream nearby. The system was field tested in 2010 for the first time and several improvements were adopted to the system and field tests were conducted in 2011 and 2012. The consecutive improvements made it possible to produce twice as much hydrogen as before. In addition, we established the method which determines the best connection method of thermoelectric cells under various water temperature combinations.
