Abstract

We implement an IPv4/v6 interconnect system in low specification hardware with open source software (OSS) as IPv6 network environment spread. The interconnect system is composed by adopting an IPv6-to-IPv4 transport relay translator (TRT), and using OSS such as FreeBSD, Jail, faithd and BIND. The performance of the system is evaluated by a viewpoint of a mutual packet transformation of IPv4 and IPv6 and a durability when flash memory is used. About the packet transformation, it is confirmed to operate normally by measuring packets in the system at a high load. In addition, the system durability that replaced a hard disk with a flash memory is evaluated by a continuous writing examination.
